Get started
HackHexa is a hands-on learning experience designed to introduce high school girls to the world of technology and engineering in an accessible, creative, and supportive environment.
During this 6-hour event, participants will explore the fundamentals of computational thinking through logic challenges, mathematical reasoning, and creative problem solving. Working in small teams, students will transform their ideas into simple digital projects such as animations, interactive logic exercises, or visual storytelling pieces.
To give students a glimpse of how real engineers collaborate, participants will use GitHub to share their projects, document their ideas, and showcase their work. The goal is not to focus on advanced coding skills, but to help students understand how technology can be used as a tool to express ideas, solve problems, and build things together.
HackHexa aims to reduce the intimidation often associated with technology fields and provide a welcoming first experience where curiosity, creativity, and collaboration are encouraged.
Requirements
What to Build
Teams design and build their solutions. Solutions may include simple animations, visual explanations of a concept, or interactive logic demonstrations. Teams will share their progress through GitHub.
What to Submit
All solutions must be submitted on Devpost and must include a GitHub repository containing the solutions materials.
Each submission must include:
-
A GitHub repository link
-
A README file explaining the solutions ideas
-
A description of the concept or problems explored
-
A brief explanation of how the solutions work
-
At least one visual representation of each solution (screenshot, animation, or visual output)
-
A demo (video, animation, or walkthrough)
-
The team members involved in the project
Solutions may include:
-
Simple programs
-
Animations
-
Interactive logic demonstrations
-
Visual explanations of a concept
Participants are encouraged to use GitHub to document their progress and organize their project materials.
The goal of HackHexa is not technical complexity, but creativity, logical thinking, and clear communication of ideas through technology.
Solutions will be evaluated based on creativity, clarity of the idea, logical thinking, and effort, not on advanced programming skills.
Prizes
Creative Logic Award
Recognizes participants who approached the challenges with original and creative reasoning.
Most Creative Presentation
